Friday night I was hankering for a char-broiled cheeseburger for dinner, so I went out to pick up some grub for myself and the wifey. I took the family hauler '11 Malibu we bought a few months ago, because I had Skynyrd cued up in it, and was a beautiful day out for a windows down drive. Behind me in the drive trough line was a dude in a red mid-90's Chevy 2500 work truck. I noticed that every time the line moved, he was getting REALLY close to me. Then I looked up and said to myself, "That's too close!" right as he bumped me.
I got out, he got out too, said he was sorry. I was so mad I was literally shaking, but I've been on the causation end of a couple fender benders in the past, so I kept cool. I asked if he had insurance. "Yes." Great! It didn't look like there was any damage, but the sun was going down, so it was hard to tell for sure. I didn't want to hold up the line of cars, as the place was very busy. I asked if he would pull over to the next area of the parking lot. "Yes." You're not gonna run on me, are you? "No." I took a picture of his license plate, just in case, but he did follow me. We took a closer look, I still thought the bumper cover might have a hairline crack, but really wasn't sure. "We good?" he asked. I said, "No, I need your info, I want to take a look at this in the daylight".
We then went around and around. I told him all I wanted was his information in case I found damage in the daylight, but I wasn't going to call the cops. When it became clear that he wasn't going to give me his information, he asked me if I was going to call it in. I said, "Only if you take off." His reply was, "Well, call it in then."
Now, here's where it gets weird. The whole time he's been saying he was sorry, and trying to shake my hand again and again. After he says he's going to leave, I walk around to take a picture of him and his truck, and he stands there and poses for two pictures! Then he tries to shake my hand again! I don't even know why, but I shook it!
So I called the cops, and I've gotta hand it to them, they were all over it. One was at my location in a matter of maybe two minutes. Right after he showed up, he told me they had him pulled over. The guy ended up getting a DUI, and his truck impounded.
Now it gets really weird. The dude lives two short blocks from my house. There are literally 10 houses and one corner between us. I'm not very happy about that. I hope he's a renter.
Oh yeah, in the light of the morning the next day, I confirmed that there was no damage. Had he just given me his information, I simply would have thrown it away the next day, and never called the cops.

I saw a simular thing Happen. The woman In front of me fell asleep in line. Me and the person behind me went around her. She woke up and got back in line. I was going to tell the people at the window what was going on But she ended up falling asleep again and hitting the guy behind me. Dumb drunks.
